D&D Donna

Say 'Здраво' (Zdravo) to Donna.

A pretty little 'pocket rott ' who came to us from Serbia accompanied by her close companion Elsa (a St. Bernard). Both had been abandoned by their owners & were being fed scraps by the locals.
Initially supported by Sam Wills (a RIN volunteer) who desperately wanted to keep them safe and facilitate them getting health checked and vaccinated for pet passports.
We were very grateful to a St Bernard rescue called SAINTS when we approached them they readily agreed to take on the re-homing of Elsa, as no way would we have considered leaving her behind.
Donna is petite but nicely proportioned, she does have an undershot mouth; she has a docked tail and, has since been spayed. She is very agile and full of life, skips around like a gazelle.
She is very people friendly and can grovel somewhat, but her confidence is growing, she really wants to please. Donna is good with other dogs large and small;  Also, she is indifferent to cats.
Her lead training – a lead seems to be something they never get out in Serbia-  is coming along very well.  She even tolerates the dogmatic head collar. She knows sit and wait and jumps happily into a vehicle and travels well.
She was a big hit at the Vets, and tolerated any sort of handling. She came with moderate 'heart-worm' for which she has been prescribed monthly medication. We could say from the last blood test that it is in remission.. and we are expecting an all clear in 4 months’ time.

**And the lovely girl is now rehomed**
